A Daily Tree 1
This painting was created on my Android phone using Sketch Lover. It is titled - Autumn Birch Day 1. It is the first of a series of trees I will be creating using various mediums to fulfill my self-challenge of creating an art piece a day for 30 days. The challenge is titled - Daily Tree. Stay with me as I embark on this adventure to improve my skills as an artist and I truly hope you enjoy the pieces I create. Friday, April 20, 2012

VROOM
It’s her birthday
She tells you she is this many
And she holds up four fingers.
She is so very excited because
Today, you see,
Bright
And shiny
And red,
She got her first set of wheels
Three if you’re counting.
She places herself carefully on the seat
Gets an arm wrestler’s hold on the grips
Places her feet strategically on the pedals
And off she goes
Traveling from 0 to 3.2 in 5 seconds
Her braids flying straight back behind her
Her puppy chasing with tongue lolling
She is feeling the need
The need
For speed

Zentangle Practice pieces
These are some of the zentangle practice pieces I have done since taking the class from Sandhya Manne CZT. This is an addictive artform and definitely allows for meditation.

This is the painting that started me into my second attempt at becoming a professional artist. I have always loved the abstract painting that could be anything to the eyes of the beholder. My journey in this world of abstracts has been an amazing trek into a world ruled by color, brush and pallet knife.

Stalactites and stalagmites – have you ever been spelunking? Does the idea of being a mile underground creep you out? Try it and be amazed at the beautiful sculptures created by dripping water. Here in Texas, you can even attend an amazing world flute and brass bowl concert down in the depths of mother earth.

This is the foyer gallery display at CSL Dallas(Center for Spiritual Living). My very first art show. I am the "Artist of the Month" for both June and July. Getting lots of "oooos" and "ahhhhs" from most of the viewers. Some even saying that the display makes them happy when they see it. There is even the possibility of a couple of sales. WoooHoooo!+SOM+TEACHING+SYMBOL+16x20+Acrylic+on+Canvas.jpg)
The SCIENCE OF MIND TEACHING SYMBOL, designed by Ernest Holmes, symbolizes the creative process in God and in the individual. Its literal definition is “The descent of Spirit, through Law, into form.”
The circles of which there is usually one incorporated around the symbol contain the “trinity” of life.
OUT OF THE BOX 8 x 10 Acrylic on canvas SOLD
I was born and raised 5 minutes from the ocean in New England. Seagulls were everywhere and I believed they belonged to the ocean. When I moved to Nashville, I was surprised and delighted to see them. When I moved to Plano TX, I was amazed and delighted to see them. As I watch them fly or perch on top of a post, I am taken back to playing in the waves, building sand castles, clam bakes under the sand and the sounds and smells of the ocean. They take me on a LONG JOURNEY HOME.

Look in the back of an old car repair shop in a back roads town and find the old truck that Grampa drove when he carried Grandma to the picture show. It's a little rusted and banged up but the memories are still there.
