Getting ready for the festival

Today is an exciting day.  We finally got the garage in "working" condition and I am about to actually get to work with the power tools! Wooohoooo!  I am building a back support for one of my art pieces created on a 24 x 49 MDF board.  Yes...I know, I should have done it before the art went on.  I'll be careful.
I'm getting ready for my first art festival.  If you're in the McKinney, TX area, come see ART IN BLOOM.  I'm one of 12 artists.  I have a 7x10 tent space, 4 borrowed ProPanels and the use of the back of neighboring ProPanels.  I am taking pieces that show all of my styles.  I have read that one style should be picked for a show; in this case, I am hoping to get invited to show in the sponsoring Gallery.  Just me, by myself...a one woman show.  That's when I guess I'll have just the one style I want to be known for.  And that, my friends, will be my 3D's.
They are very time consuming but, oh my goodness, the things you can see on just one strip. Sometimes, as I am building up the layers, I get sidetract by naming all that I can see and imagine.  I have even taken the leftovers and built whole pieces around the image that ends up on it. Well, you really have to see it to see it.  A picture does not do my 3D pieces justice.
Till next time...Have a creative day!

Okay...here I go.  I've decided to retire and persue ART.  I'm spending more time in the studio building up inventory. I have opened an ETSY store http://www.etsy.com/shop/brandicooperstudio. I am looking for shows to enter and leaning on the knowledgable shoulders of my studio mate to help me get going.
I'm excited for both the opportunity to share my gift with more people and to at last be free of working a restrictive job. I am finding out that working for myself is not easy.  There is a lot to learn and it seems the biggest of it all is Marketing.  Getting my "list" together, setting up a newsletter, emailing and facebooking and blogging and .......wow.
If any of you out there have any suggestions, I will be glad to hear them.
Mainly, I ask you to help me spread the word. "Like" me, "friend" me, "follow" me and all that other stuff to help spread the word that I am a serious artist looking for collectors to enjoy my work.
Stay tuned.....beautiful things to follow.

ON-LINE COMMUNITY 24x30 Acrylic and Paper on Canvas SOLD

ON-LINE COMMUNITY $425

They all gather on the wires around 5 o'clock. Are they discussing the day's maneuver practices? Are they watching how the humans travel, weaving in and out, constantly changing leaders and coming to rest, however briefly, under the same wires? Are they exchanging tidbits on which restaurant will have the most food available between cars or which yard has feeders?

JUST ONE DROP 3 Dimentional Acrylic on Paper built up on Masonite 36 x 36

JUST ONE DROP

The idea for this piece came from a sermon delivered at the Center for Spiritual Living Dallas by Dr. Rev. Petra Weldes.  If you want to realize the vastness of the universe, you need only stare out at the ocean. Visualize each wave as an individual, each coming from the same source.  Scientist have discovered that a single drop of that ocean holds all that is found in the Universe.
